Yep, it's that time of year again! We are very excited to welcome you to the 12th Annual Fraser River Cleanup on Saturday, March 23, from 10 AM to 1 PM! Meet us at the end of Gill Road in Chilliwack, BC; attendants will be there to help you park and direct you to Cleanup Central.
Bring some warm layers, a pair of sturdy boots, and a reusable beverage container. If you have your own gloves you can bring those along—otherwise we’ll have gloves, bags, pickers, and other safety equipment to assist with the cleanup.
There will be a volunteer appreciation BBQ provided by Restaurant 62 and a prize draw to show our thanks for the hard work and dedication of those who come out. In addition, Ocean Ambassadors Canada will be there to teach us about our connection to water and Wildlife Preservation Canada will bring news about local wildlife and the Western Painted Turtle which is being reintroduced to the area.
Over the past 11 years we have removed 125 tonnes of garbage from the river! We look forward to seeing you this year, rain or shine, to make a difference and give back to the river that gives us so much.
The cleanup would not be possible without the generous support of our sponsors. Thank you to Kal Tire, Chilliwack Minor Baseball, Cabela’s, Restaurant 62, Gordon Food Service, Timbro Contracting, City of Chilliwack, Chilliwack Water Store, Ocean Ambassadors Canada, Bio Central, Great River Fishing, The Home Depot, Inner Vision Yoga, Eastern Valley Toilets, Wildlife Preservation Canada, Glad, Big K Clothing, Fraser Valley Salmon Society, Envision Financial, Chilliwack Bottle Depot, First Class Waste/Alpine Valley Disposal, Starbucks Coffee, HUB International, Woodtone, and Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC.
