Nima Mostaghimi holds an honours degree in Environment and Resource Studies from the University of Waterloo. He is driven by a passion for understanding ecology and how human society fits within the environmental system. Nima is an educator with Ocean Ambassadors Canada, he spends most of the year in Burrard Inlet educating participants about marine pollution cultivating connections with the Ocean through paddle-boarding. He is excited to help monitor the health of False Creek in hopes to better understand ways we can reduce our impact on our local waterways.
Rachel Schoeler is a passionate swimmable water advocate and avid open water swimmer. She swims with the Vancouver Open Water Swim Association and has completely fallen in love with the sport and the community. In 2014, she swam over 30 kilometres across the Georgia Strait to raise awareness about swimmable water in Vancouver and surrounding areas. She is thrilled to have the opportunity to volunteer with Fraser Riverkeeper and Swim Drink Fish to better understand the health of her local waterways.
