Stand Up For Fresh Water, Where We Live and Play.

At Fraser Riverkeeper we are committed to working with the community to ensure our natural right to swimmable, drinkable, fishable water. Water has private, public, personal, health, environmental, spiritual, recreational, cultural and commercial dimensions. As a community of people we can restore and defend our shared waters together.

Like Fraser Riverkeeper, MEC is committed to conserving ecologically and recreationally important fresh water places where we can adventure and that sustain us. Since 2010 MEC has invested over $2 million to sustain fresh water in Canada and is committed to doing even more.

Fraser Riverkeeper is honored to be partnering with the MEC Homewaters campaign again this year to raise awareness about fresh water issues in Canada and around the world.

You can help!

1. Download Swim Guide - make sure you find a clean beach for you and your family before you jump in the water! Fraser Riverkeeper provides updates on water quality and swim advisories for nearly 400 beaches in BC.

2. Instagram - tag all of your fresh water photos with #MyHomewaters, and MEC will donate $5 to the Freshwater Alliance, up to $20,000.

3. Wear it - you can purchase a limited edition MEC and Etsy collab tee for only $35 at select MEC stores. All profits will go towards the Freshwater Alliance.

Who is the Freshwater Alliance?

The Canadian Freshwater Alliance, a project of Tides Canada Initiatives, is committed to serving the needs of Canada's diverse freshwater community. Through service offerings and training in engagement organizing, storytelling, mapping, social media and database management, the Freshwater Alliance offers immediate solutions to strengthen our individual and collective actions to engage residents of Canada in the beauty, value and inspiration of our waterways.

Fraser Riverkeeper is lucky to have had the opportunity to participate in countless webinars and a 3-day engagement organizing training all hosted by the wonderful team at the Freshwater Alliance. Thank you!
